At last going away from `All women post`, here comes a write up about an MCP - No dont get me wrong - this is what he has written about himself in the ewit magazine - and it expands to Male Caring Professional ha ha ha.... I am going to talk about Swaminathan, Swami to all his friends
Never one to mince his words and to speak out his mind is our great Swami, currently the lead for IDC Productivity Accenture India Development Center. You should hear him speak on Quality -literally leaves the others speechless when he expounds on his ideas and theories. I rightly agree with him that we should talk about a separate model that has evolved for Quality in India rather than just confine ourselves with the other frameworks like ISO, Six sigma, CMM, etc. His qualifications in terms of being a practicing professional of 20 years in the industry along with his CSQA and CISA certification apart from having been a Global CMMI consultant in the US, Europe and United Kingdom. He was also a Designated Master Black Belt for Six Sigma on account of his process background.
Now in charge of the Quality Group of Nasscom, Chennai, I am sure that we will have great programs to be spearheaded by him under the Nasscom banner this year. A real task master, when handling a job entrusted to him to and goes all out to do it to perfection. I have had an experience of this trait in him, as part of the Q group where he is coordinating the Industry Academia collaboration and gets all the other members to the group to become the part of the dispension.
Recently, I had requested him to be one of the panel of judges for the ewit paper presentation contest, where he was meticulous and was following us about the process to be adopted and was giving us lot more ideas and tips to handle it. I will rate as the best his write up of all the articles that has come out in the ewit magazine He had taken time to come out and discuss various issues faced by women in IT workforce from a male gender perspective. What a key learning it is. A must read for everyone.
I think the Software professionals will love him when he says " I have a professed distaste for excessive Quality documentation and would rather try to focus on real quality issues that projects face.".

Swami, it is Great knowing you. May you pioneer a new Model and make it world renowned, which is easy enough to follow by all us, the harassed software professionals when we talk about process compliance and software quality Certifications.
