Pitam Nivas city Palace Udaipur Part II

When we get off the lift in the 2nd floor in the City Palace Udaipur  you are land in Pitam Nivas built by Maharana Jagat Singh II in the year 1734.  From this floor you can look into the Mor Chowk.   On the Eastern side is the place where you can see the King's chair and the letter box made of silver and from the window you can see the city.   There is also the Kings collection of his bed, table, etc apart from the royal toilet too.   The hand drawn full length painting of the king looks at you and you can feel the presence of the royalty in here.

Here is a picnic spot in the Udaipur  steeped in history.  On the lake shore of Fateh Sagar is the place where the legend of the Maharana Pratap and his brave Arabian Horse Chetak  is kept alive as a Memorial.  The beautiful horse statue adorns the median i n the udaipur city and is lit beautifully in the night. On kartik raviwar day were fortunate to get the blessings of Lord Eklinji the presiding deity and Ruler of Mewar kingdom.   The mewar Ranas have taken A sacred wow that they will rule their kingdom on behalf of eklingi.  This temple is situated about 22kms from Udaipur. The architecture grandeur has to be seen and  enjoyed. Eklinji is in the form of 4 sided siva with each side denoting  suryan, brahma vishnu and Rudra  made of black marble. The sound and light show at the city place  made us travel through the history of our country.  Many times hearing about the bravery of our ancestors raised goose bumps in us.   Even with focused dim lighting during the show we could appreciate the eternal beauty of the palace.
