Some facts about the temple, the pooja rituats etc..    Reproduced from Amarabharti Publications:   Here are some rituals at the temple 1.         Everyday a new earthen pot is bought for offering   curd rice to the Lord.   Though there are a lot of gold and diamond studded vessels which belong to the Lord, only this earthen pot is taken into the inner sanctum sanctorum beyond the Kolasekhara dwaram.   2.       The Silk dress for the Lord   is 21 meters   and weighs 6 kgs.   These cannot be bought from any store, but can be ordered only from the Devasatonam office by paying Rs. 12,500.   Every week only on Fridays alone, this vastram is adorned on the Lord.   This is the Mel Sathu Vastram.   A devotee after paying the required amount, may get their turn only after 3 years to do this seva 3.       The Uill sathu Vastram costs Rs. 20,000.   Every Friday about 15 vastrams are offered to the Lord.   The devotee needs to wait for 10 years for this seva 4.       Apa

    Reproduced from Amarabrathi Publicaitons : Here are some amazing facts of our Sacred Temple Tirupathi   1.         About 1 km From the tirupati temple,   there are some rare rock formations called Silathoranam which are found only in here in the whole world.    The age of these rocks are supposed to be 250 crore years back.   The main deity is made up of this kind of rock only. 2.       The main deity is always adorned with Cinnamomum camphora or Pachai Karpoorram, which is an edible form of camphor in small quantities..   This is a acidic substance and if this chemical is put on black stone these stones will crack.   But The main deity is adorned with this substance all through the year 3.       There are no marks of any carving found on the statue and though the original rocks are rough on the hands, the main deity is smooth to touch 4.       Though Tirumala is at 3000 feet above the mean sea level, the deity statute is always found to be at 110 F.
