Why do you want to grow? 
At the outset this looks like a question that is rhetoric, requiring no answers. But it is true that for many of us growth is just a logical arithmetic progression of revenue or a lofty goal-based journey that we seldom complete. Most of our efforts as individuals and leaders are to intervene in the natural process of growth so as to expedite it towards a purpose. Very often this purpose for growing does not get defined. 
The talk Scaling and Growth – Some Perspectives is an attempt to place in front of business leaders - the attributes of a growth journey, the points of preparedness and some questions that have to be answered if growth has to be ensured. The 60 minute interaction will open avenues of thoughts that will enable us as a team and as individuals to look at how we have configured our efforts for scaling.  The talk will share experiences, tools and methods that have enabled firms to get a bearing on their growth journey. It will enable the audience to understand the nuances of growth process and allow them to analyze their own preparedness to take the next leap.

Raj Shankar is the principal strategist at ichiban Business Consultants Pvt Ltd, a boutique strategic advisory firm created to enable SME’s negotiates challenges of starting and scaling.  He along with his team have worked with businesses in the areas of IT, ITES, Manufacturing, Health, Pharma, Retail and Construction on aspects such as business design, customer definition, product portfolio management and business model innovation. Raj also works directly with CEO’s and their team through advisory support and strategy review services. Raj teaches strategy and entrepreneurship at various academic institutions like IIT Madras, VIT University, and Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD)….He is the author of two books, the latest being "Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice" published by Vijay Nicole in collaboration with Tata McGraw Hill. When I joined Rotary Club of Chennai Thiruvanmiyur , I didnt understand what changes a club can make to somebody unknown. Thanks to Aravind who wanted me to write about the Temple at thiruvotriyur in chennai. that was one of those days when you get up early in morning and the whole world looks very frustrating and you dont know what to do. it became a God send message to me. So started my preparation to go the temple. I reside in the south chennai and the the Temple is at Thiruvotriyur in North Chennai. and the travel time will be more than 1.30 hours. So we started at 10.30 and reached around 11.45. The temple closes at 12 noon after the mid day pooja. What a divine visit it was. I came back so calm and filled with energy.
