This Snake couple is Harmless

Yes, I am going to write about a couple this time - the Seshans (it means snakes) Sumitra & Ananth Seshan . What a great people to get to know both personally and professionally. More so when they are both entrepreneurs and are running a successful software company " Fifth Generation Technologies". Dr Ananth Seshan , is the Chairman and Managing Director, and Sumitra Seshan is the COO of Fifth Generation Technologies India Ltd.– an engineering software product company that has a client base of Fortune 100 manufacturing clients worldwide (automotive, pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries). What a combination - Doctorate in Robotics & MBA in marketing - no wonder 5G is a great company in the Engineering Software product space. Their software, Enterprise Gateway is manufacturing business intelligence software product mainly targeted at the automotive market, that provides real time collaboration between the manufacturing shop floor and the enterprise in ...

a lot to write

sorry have not been able to write any blogs for the last 10 days though I have enough things to write about - 2 books review, a movie, exciting people to write about, so many things are there. But some how there has been a lethargy to write the blog In fact, I had even saved the post on Loyalty - but didnt publish it. any way here I come to make it up.

The indian value systems - are we loosing it slowly

India is a country which is based on high and ethical value systems. We are always conscious of the good and bad deeds and know that we have to undergo the consequences for all our deeds. One of the best virtues we follow is "loyalty". This may be our loyalty to our parents, friends, our school, our teachers and our work place. We are not only loyal to the workplace, we even worship the place or tools or even the animals which help us to earn our livelihood. That is why we celebrate the Sankaranti - which is the thanksgiving for the Sun god, the bullocks and cows which help us to raise our food. Not only that, we worship the workplace on Ayudhapooja (literally means doing worship to the tools) once a year. This is so deeply ingrained that you can see the drivers doing a small pooja before they take the vehicle out everyday. We always consider that the loyalty to the company is an absolute necessity because this is what feeds our families. But very slowly the people are loo...

Tamil TV serials

I just heard that in Jaya TV, the Simran time, all the stories are just going to be only for a month. What a blessed relief. At least now the story line will go only withe main theme and there will no innumerous side branches (in mega episodes at the end these will be left hanging for good, of course, even the main story line will be hurriedly patched up and the end will be shown). Will the producers also listen to more one of my heart burns - please avoid long song sequences - is it really necessary. At least the songs are ok , but nowadays the way these song sequenes comes with dances, which have no relevance to the theme too. My God it is killing. Ultimately, between the song sequence and the ads just little of the story gets filmed. Also, why dont we encourage thriller series I dont understand, why should every story line be based on emotions. The serials like Chidambara Ragasiyum are far and in between - Also I hated to see this serial only running for a day in a wee...

The fire spitting Quality Gun

At last going away from `All women post`, here comes a write up about an MCP - No dont get me wrong - this is what he has written about himself in the ewit magazine - and it expands to Male Caring Professional ha ha ha.... I am going to talk about Swaminathan, Swami to all his friends Never one to mince his words and to speak out his mind is our great Swami, currently the lead for IDC Productivity Accenture India Development Center. You should hear him speak on Quality -literally leaves the others speechless when he expounds on his ideas and theories. I rightly agree with him that we should talk about a separate model that has evolved for Quality in India rather than just confine ourselves with the other frameworks like ISO, Six sigma, CMM, etc. His qualifications in terms of being a practicing professional of 20 years in the industry along with his CSQA and CISA certification apart from having been a Global CMMI consultant in the US, Europe and United Kingdom. He was also a Designat...

A lady to look up at

Literally we need to look up at this lady. Sulochana Ganesan Her tallness is a contrast to her softness. But never one who is soft when it comes to Quality. A pioneer is lot of respects. One of the early entrants into the IT field. From what ever she has shared with me, I am literally speechless to hear about her father who thought that Computers are going to rule the world in the future and whoever hasn't had a initiation into computers are going to some kind of illiterates. No No... I am not talking about today's father - Look back at a man who thought like this in 1960s. What a man he is..... (No wonder the daughter of a man should be a very great person.) This person not only talked, but walked the talk by making his daughter to travel all the way to Delhi from Bihar to do a course on Autocoder programming in 1969. One of the two women in a class of 45 - . But she remarks - my course instructor was a woman. We talk about Ada, the first woman programmer , etc. Look at India,...

Indian hockey vs Indian cricket

Yes it is very shameful that India has even failed to qualify for the Olympic games in hockey - incidentally the one sport in which India was able to get the Gold medal. Enough is being talked about this - in all kinds of media. But one thing is why do you want to compare hockey and cricket and say the cricketers are earning handsomely and so they need to share with other sports people. This state of high earning is only in the recent times, look at the good old times about 10 -15 years back. Then the cricketers were not making any money. My point is that dont say that cricket is much talked about and others sports are languishing because of lack of attention. Ladies and Gentlemen, how of many of us honestly read through the sports page which contains all items - but first focus on only cricket. How many of us know the different competitive games that is being played in other sports. We know the R anji trophy, tri series , etc. do we know the names of the others trophies ...

I am not here to write only about Women please

I was just going through the last few posts and found that I have been writing about women. Dont get me wrong, I am not here to write about only Women (It is by chance that the last few blogs have been about women)- My intention is to write about great People. Everyday, we meet people who have something great to their credit in either a big way or a small way - these are our friends, acquaintances, whom the whole world may or may not know. But I want to write about them and what is that that is different that they have done is what I want to share. More than anything I want to write about the Entrepreneurs and how they have achieved something in life, as I collecting the relevant info, it is taking me some time to come out with this label. Happy reading.

Choices - this is what makes you what you are

The fittest Survive, even faced with a adverse situation. This is the absolute truth about the evolution theory. One more person to prove this time honoured cliche is R. Radikaa , the Chairman & Managing Director, Radaan Media Works India Ltd. This is what differentiates her from all other people in the Media world - She is a renowned Award winning Actress in our Indian Movie world. But the first woman to Corpartarize her company and make it a big banner is something which is awe inspiring . In a world where your individual talent alone makes you what you, To create a living entity and forging a separate path for you - and at the same time doing your personal professional acting(coming out great at it) - My God what a amassing personality who is forced to wear multiple hats. My admiration goes for the kind of portrayal she does of a Woman - not just the stereotyped always bearing every injustice with a smile, suffering within herself and trying to win over everybody with her g...

A hardcore Techie becomes the soft mother once more!

Congrats my dear friend Vijayadevi for having delivered a baby boy just yesterday. I know your new bron will be born with all the goodness you possess. though dimunivtive in size, what a wonderful person is Vijayadevi - full of pleasant contradictions - a hard core technical person with a soft inner core. Her long stint in various corporates is filled with success stories. There is another side to this Techie - the ability to reach out to people, wanting to do good, All these make up to be a full human being. Basically, she is a soft person, However, her firmness in what she believes, is seen to be believed. One more accomplishment that she can be very proud of is her painting talent. It was by chance that I came to know her a couple of years ago, and our friendship has grown over these few years. Not that we get time to spend together, it is always a few hours here and there, but it is like you have found a good vibe and once that is done, it doesnt need much time and effort ...
