News items that catched my attention

There were 3 news item which catch ed my attention and which I wanted to highlight in my blog
The first was about Commonwealth Games and continuing gold medal tally that India is gaining.  What  a way to Go showing the world what we are despite all our execution weakness, politics, corruption, etc.

The second was  India getting into the UN Security Council.  This is true arrival and the number of votes in favour of India getting this status - speaks about the popularity of our beloved India - 187 out of 192.

The third was Hindu highlighting the religious harmany in its front page of how our Indian citizens are united at all levels with religion helping us to unite

Even to stand in front of him is more than enough for anyone.   History of Nathdwara Shrinathji says that during the reign of Aurangzeb, statue of Lord Krishna was moved from Vrindavan to enshrine it at a safe place. However, when the vehicle carrying the statue passed through the particular spot where the temple now is, its wheels were stuck in the mud. Jinja, Uganda The souce of River Nile

The 2nd day of the trip was to see the Beginning point of River Nile from Lake Victoria  at the place called Jinja.   Jinja is a city in the Eastern Region of Uganda, located on the North shores of Lake Victoria This town is about 84 kms from Kampala the capital of Uganda.  The drive to this place takes about 2.5 to 3 hours.  The road runs through sugarcane fields, tea plantations coffee plantations.  Some places looks like you are driving through coorg.  On the way there are lot of vendors selling fruits just like in highways in India.   Source of Nile river The White Nile leaves Lake Victoria at Ripon Falls near Jinja, Uganda, as the "Victoria Nile." It flows north for some 130 kilometers to Lake Kyoga.
