The Uganda Museum is located in Kampala, Uganda and it is the oldest Museum in East Africa. It displays and exhibits ethnological natural-historical and traditional life collections of Uganda’s cultural heritage. It was founded in 1908, after Governor George Wilson called for “all articles of interest” on Uganda to be procured.
There are various section starting from pre history history to contemporary exhibits. There is a special section for apes and chimpanzees. We were shown a stuffed gorilla which died die to a fall from the tree and the bones are laid out separately in a box.
Music instruments
Africa for me means the colorful dresses and beating of drums. And I was most delighted to see a variety of instruments on display and all of us were allowed to play with it too.
