My TV viewing

After a week long business trip, was trying to catch up with a lot of things at the same time on Sunday. To alleviate the pressure, here and there went to the drawing room to watch the TV. Something was interesting, most of the time was channel surfing.

I was mainly watching the news channel in the morning and what a day it was. Truly, I have great regards for Dr Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi as a lady who having been thrust into a difficult role, has been able to keep her place with finesse. But trying to win the Trust vote on Tuesday, the kind of deliberations each of these political parties are doing, my God - isn't it Bribery of some sort. We talk of corruption and the penalties, but we see no action. and when openly a elected Federal government is doing this, how dirty it is. My God, if the Nuclear deal is good for the country or bad for the country, let every party deliberate on it and vote for or against on its own. Why should a party bargain for something to say Yes or No. Don't they have the duty for the electorate who have made them the Member of Parliament to take a stand without asking for something in return for doing their duty. It was disgusting to watch and hear all these political parties doing their act.

But the late evening it was a a great experience and entertainment b watching the Reality Shows. We were channel surfing between 3 programs - The Little Masters on Jaya TV, the Neeya Naana on Vijay TV and Maanada Myalada on Kalaighar TV.

The performance of all the kinds in the final of the Little Masters were simply out of the world. What a talent or should I say amassing talent. It was a pleasure to watch each of these performers and I could only wonder at their performance. Truly blessed kids each one of them. As the judges were remarking, choosing just one for the title is a pretty tough choice. How I would have loved to see all the episodes

Coming to Neeya Naana, I should say hats off to Vijay TV for always launching innovative program which gets copied by other channels. No doubt that Copying is the best form of flattery. Coming to this debate, the R&D team does a great research and find very interesting topics and Gopinath as the Host of the Show is remarkable. I admire his style of hosting, without raising the controversies, but at the same time, taking out the important points from both the sides, always making sure that he is not alienating either of the sides, Simply suburb. A good to watch program

The other reality show Maanada Myilaada is about Dancing. I admire their ingenuity in terms of bringing in different themes for the pairs to perform and the way each of the teams go about is good. But what I don't like is the lengthy talk all the 3 judges do when they give their comments about the performance. According to be what sets this apart from other dancing competition is the Themes that the production team comes up with.

But I couldn't see all the 3 program in full as we had to switch between these programs being aired at the same time. This is the real pitiable situation, as many people comment, things are always same between the channels - uniformly they are good or bad. So you get to watch good programs or bad program at any given time. There is ultimately no choice.
