Taare Zameen par
I am very emotional at this particular moment, after having seen the movie Taare Zameen Par - which literally means "the Stars in the Land". This movie is all about children with dyslexia and how even the parents aren't in a position to understand them. My niece works in a school for such children and she used to share how these children are very normal and are always able to outperform the normal children, with some initial help in overcoming their learning shortcoming.
This movie is a brilliant portrayal of such a thing. Every aspect about this film is so superb and fine - whether it is casting, or acting or direction, or the speed of the story play. No wonder it has won the top national awards. Both Aamir Khan who takes the hand as a teacher to understand the student's problem and tries to help him cope up and bring out the best in him, & Darsheel Safary who plays the 8 year old boy are fantastic. Also Walt Disney Company has bought the video rights for the home distribution in USA, UK & Australia. This is the first time an international studio has bought the video rights of an Indian film. This is also India's official entry for the Oscar Awards for this year. I sincerely hope and pray that it wins an Oscar as this will mean more number of people will see the film and understand more about the special children and how to tend to them.
Coming to the special children, I want to Salute those countless parents who really really spend their lives taking care of their special children. As parents of normal children, we don't understand the tough situation these people are in. We as Entrepreneurs, or corporate citizens are celebrated at our work place for our commitment, passion, achieving results, etc. But these unsung parents sacrifice their whole life for their children, never giving up on their hope, their eternal love and pass through so many tough situations in life. We are all nothing in front of such people. May God be with them and shower them with His Love and blessings. I am sure that these people are the ones who are closest to Him rather than any religious leader who is constantly praying to Him.
