A prisoner of Birth

Jeffrey Archer - one of my favorite Authors. More than Kane and Abel, I like his "Not a penny more, Not a penny Less". I would love to read his novels again and again and every time you read, it is a fresh experience, even though you know what the end is. Couple of weeks back, I took up the latest book - " A prisoner of Birth ". What a book it was. As usual it was so gripping that I could put the book down only after I finished it around 3.15 am in the morning. When I started, it looked ordinary, but as the pace picked up, the interest never waned ever for a second. It was gripping - You can never forget Danny Cartwright - the young fellow who is wrongly framed for the murder of his Best Friend and who is able to prove his innocence not just because of the best lawyer (the father and son duo court scene is excellent) , but because of the fact that one of the 4, who were the culprits and who undertake to make Danny the Murderer in order to save their Fri
Thanks to Aravind who wanted me to write about the Temple at thiruvotriyur in chennai. that was one of those days when you get up early in morning and the whole world looks very frustrating and you dont know what to do. it became a God send message to me. So started my preparation to go the temple. I reside in the south chennai and the the Temple is at Thiruvotriyur in North Chennai. and the travel time will be more than 1.30 hours. So we started at 10.30 and reached around 11.45. The temple closes at 12 noon after the mid day pooja. What a divine visit it was. I came back so calm and filled with energy. This is a Shiva temple and the God is known as Tyagarajar, Adipureeswarar and Padampakka Nathar. The main deity is said be in the form of Lingam formed of Mud which is covered with Golden cover sheet. Once a year during Karthik Poornima, the Gold cover is removed and the necessary abishekam is performed and the once again the Lingam is covered with all the medicinal materials. His conc

GOD is Faith

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty. He asks one of his new students to stand and....... Prof: So you believe in God? Student: Absolutely, sir. Prof : Is God good? Student: Sure. Prof: Is God all-powerful? Student : Yes. Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't. How is this God good then? Hmm? (Student is silent..) Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is God good? Student: Yes. Prof: Is Satan good? Student : No. Prof: Where does Satan come from? Student: From...God.. . Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world? Student: Yes. Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct? Student: Yes. Prof: So who created evil? (Student does not answer.) Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist
